Poole 48-42 Swindon 

The Robins' are defeated on the opening night of the Elite league fixtures

 

It wasn't the start to the Elite League season that Swindon would have wanted - coming away from Poole with only one point.

 

In front of the Sky Sports Cameras, Swindon were defeated against a resolute and spirited Poole side.

 
The Pirates started the night confidently taking the lead in heat three - and although Swindon fought back to level it in heat five, Alun Rossiter’s side were unable to gain the ascendancy as Poole repelled Swindon’s challenge throughout.

Swindon’s eventual six point margin of defeat means the Robins earn their opening league point of the 2009 campaign.

Swindon’s score card was topped by a twelve point haul from Captain Leigh Adams who collected two heat victories.
