Flying the flag for the armed forces 

An event that marks the start of Armed Forces Week 2010

Today the special Armed Forces Day flag was raised above the BBC Big Screen in Wharf Green to herald the start of Armed Forces Week.

Representatives from a number of service organisations joined the inSwindon team and the Mayor, Cllr Rex Barnet, at the ceremony.

 

The day provides an opportunity for the nation to show its support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community - from currently serving troops to service families, and from veterans to recruits.
