Running For Goldenhar
Fantastic messages of support & donations as Kirsty & Pete get ready for the London Marathon
With just over two weeks to go until the London Marathon, everything's on target for two Swindon runners taking part in aid of a very special cause.
That means near-distance training runs of 22 miles in and around Swindon and also racing towards raising a fantastic four-figure sum.
Kirsty Heber-Smith & Pete Dewhirst will be pounding the capital's streets on Sunday 13 April for Goldenhar UK, the charity well-known in Swindon through the tireless fundraising of Alan Holmes, whose grandson, Morgan, suffers from the rare Goldenhar Syndrome the charity helps to raise awareness of.
And with just over £800 pledged so far on the pair's JustGiving page - plus dozens of messages of encouragement & support - it looks like all the training & committment Kirsty & Pete are putting in will mean Goldenhar eventually being more than a £1,000 better off.
"It's a fantastic effort from them both and I can't thank them enough for what they are doing," Alan said.
"Every penny really does make a difference."
