Kicking onGoals were the agenda at the County Ground today when we spoke to manager Paul Sturrock. Following Town's goal-fest against Bournemouth, the boss is hoping for a similar outcome against Millwall this Saturday - but with an improved performance. "I was very pleased with the result but there are areas that we needed to work on," he told us. "We've done that this week, and the players have responded very well."
On matters off the field, Sturrock confirmed goalkeeper Peter Brezovan had enjoyed his recent trial with Premiership side Everton - but that talk of a transfer was too early. "Hopefully the experience will be a big benefit to him," Sturrock said, playing down any rumours of an immediate switch. "They [Everton] liked what the saw, but it is early days and nothing can be done until January at the earliest." He was also keen to defer talk about the possible arrival of Hull centre-back Sam Collins, stating: "he's not here yet, but any club would want a player of his experience." |
