A rocket from Oliver Risser on the hour helped seal the perfect start for Paolo Di Canio.

 

His captain volleyed home from 25 yards in front of the Town End to make it 2-0 and settle any remaining nerves after a period of Crewe pressure.

 

Town's first goal was also perfectly timed when surprise choice striker Billy Bodin was pulled back in the box just before the break. Callum Kennedy fired home with ease.

 

Swindon's fine second-half performance was capped by an Aden Flint header after McCormack and Connell added some fresh legs.

 

"We were amazing. But we'll celebrate with a sparking water tonight. Not beer," Di Canio added.
