Swindon threw away a two-goal lead and the points as lowly Hereford stunned the County Ground with an unlikely second-half revival.

 

Two-nil up at half-time thanks to Mehdi Kerrouche setting up Raffaele De Vita for the first before the Algerian himself grabbed the second, Town were cruising.

 

But a slow start after the break gave Hereford hope when Tom Barkhuizen fired high past Lanzano to make it 2-1. And with the momentum in their favour, Yoann Arquin followed up nine minutes later by heading home unmarked for the equaliser.

 

The roller coaster then continued with Simon Ferry cooly slotting home to make it 3-2 and for what Town fans thought was three points in the bag.

 

But with the seconds ticking down, Hereford spoilt the party when a back-header from Harry Pell agonisingly found the net.

 

After 5 wins and 6 losses, it was Town's first draw of the season.

 

"I told them the third goal would be significant," commented a disappointed Paolo Di Canio, "and unfortunately my prediction came true."
