Pitch survives 8am inspection after mammoth snow clearing effort

 

Swindon Town's game against Shrewsbury is to go ahead as planned after fans helped grounds staff and Paolo Di Canio clear the pitch.

 

Pictures from the official STFC Twitter feed show the mammoth effort that took place last evening as everyone spent hours shovelling snow off the grass-protecting covers at the County Ground.

 

Spades and wheel barrows were eventually stood down just before midnight.

 

Match referee Richard Clark passed the pitch as playable at 8am this morning declaring the playing surface as "perfect".
