Substitute James Collins superbly side-footed the winner that might just keep Paolo Di Canio at the County Ground.

After a week of takeover rumours and surprise transfers, in which the Town manager considered his future (and still is doing so), Swindon put in a performance worthy of their best this season given the circumstances.

 

Di Canio applauded the players and the fans at the final whistle in a show of unity that he described briefly with the words "heroes and amazing".

 

"This is my players' victory.... with this heart we could be a Champions League Club. Fantastic."

 

Swindon are just two points from the top of League One.
