Chance To Go Top.... Missed!
Npower League One
RESULT: Swindon Town 1 Hartlepool United 1
Swindon scorer: Ferry 15
Hartlepool scorer: Monkhouse 74
SWTV FANS' VIEW with Don Rogers
Swindon missed the chance to go top of League One in front of their new prospective owners.
Consortium head Jed McCrory and his associates looked on from the Directors' Box as former Town winger Andy Monkhouse spoilt the party with a second-half equaliser.
Swindon had earlier taken a first-half lead after a superb flowing move culminated in Simon Ferry firing home his first goal at the County Country this season.
But with championship rivals Tranmere and Doncaster both losing, the dropped points meant Town stay third albeit just one point behind the leaders.
"I am not happy," Di Canio admitted.
"Today says we are not ready for the top. Maybe we need to play less tippy-tappy and win ugly. A 1-0 win today would have been fantastic, but we have lost an opportunity today."
Sticking to his statement
The Town boss also refused to make a full commitment to stay as manager, preferring to stick to his earlier statement, before thanking the Robins' fans who showed their support for him today.
"The support from the fans was special and I would like to thank them. They appreciate the job I have done and that I will always work for the cause.
