Swindon are looking good for a play-off place after their first home win since January.

 

Another three points at home on Saturday against Stevenage would secure it, with Sheffield United and Yeovil looking like likely opponents as the top six draw away from the chasing pack.

 

The rot was ended with a lighting start which began with Adam Rooney converting his first chance within five minutes and then a second within the half-hour.

 

Inbetween, Tottenham loanee Massimo Luongo grabbed his first for the Robins as Kevin MacDonald's side ran riot.

 

The much-needed victory was wrapped up by James Collins 17th of the season after Crewe briefly threatened with a penalty.

 

"I asked for a reaction from the players after our disappointing weekend and they delivered," commented a delighted Town manager.

 

"We'll take a lot of confidence from this win. If we win the game on Saturday then the play-off place is secured and that’s the priority."
