Swindon will take on Brentford in the first leg of the League One play-offs.

 

The first game will be played at the County Ground on Saturday 04 May, with the return leg away on Bank Holiday Monday 06 May.

 

In a dramatic final day of the League season, Swindon conceded two late goals in injury time to fall to 6th, while Brentford missed a penalty in the last minute that would have given them 2nd and automatic promotion.

Going into the final moments of the ninety, it looked like Town were destined to take on Yeovil after James Collins gave Swindon the lead with seven minutes to go.

 

But an equaliser, followed by a penalty and a defensive error let Scunthorpe snatch a highly unlikely victory - but still not enough for them to avoid relegation.

 

Town now face a big bank holiday weekend ahead with a place at Wembley up for grabs. 

 

"We just had a nightmare five minutes and lost concentration. I'm bitterly disappointed," commented Kevin MacDonald.

 

"But we now must prepare for Brentford. What's done is done.

 

"It's up to us now to get the right results."
