Swindon's strong finish almost salvaged a point in another game they lacked an attacking threat.

 

Two-nil down through early goals in each half - the second after a terrible mix-up between Wes Foderingham and Jay McEveley - Preston looked easy winners until Dany N'Guessan curled home superbly with five minutes to go.

 

The goal inspired a late flourish from a tired-looking Swindon that the home side least expected, with Mohamed El-Gabbas almost grabbing the equaliser with a fine effort only just thwarted by the Preston keeper.

 

Swindon slip to 12th.
