Town left it late to book a semi-final place against Stevenage in the Football League Trophy.

 

With twelve minutes to go, Town were heading for double Cup disappointment inside three days after their 4-0 drubbing at Macclesfield last Saturday.

 

But Nick Ajose proved the man of the moment to score twice to turn the game on its head.

 

Earlier Wycombe had taken the lead on the stroke of half-time but after goalscorer McClure went off just after the re-start, the visitors lacked any cutting edge.

 

Town face Stevenage in a two-legged semi-final for the chance to face Newport County or Peterborough for a place at Wembley.
