Port Vale 2 Swindon 3SkyBet League One
RESULT: Port Vale 2 Swindon Town 3
Port Vale scorers: Loft 20, Pope 42
Swindon Town scorers: Ranger 51, Pritchard 65, Byrne 69
A fantastic goal and two assists from Alex Pritchard inspired a superb second-half Swindon comeback from 2-0 down.
Just like at Peterborough in the week, Town looked down and out after they allowed the home side to score twice without reply in dreadful playing conditions.
But as opposed to the mudpath in the JPT Semi, it was the wind this time that played havoc with both team's attempts to play their normal game.
Comeback
That all changed in the second-half, however, as Alex Pritchard crossed for Nile Ranger to head home from close Range to pull one back, with the man himself then firing home a free-kick from all of 30 yards to make it 2-2.
And with Port Vale shell-shocked, Swindon then capped their dominance of the second period when Nathan Byrne scrambled in another move set up Pritchard.
"Once we got the first one we just went from strength to strength," commented a delighted Mark Cooper.
