Crawley 1 Swindon 0SkyBet League One
RESULT: Crawley Town 1 Swindon Town 0
Crawley scorer: McLeod 51 (pen)
Swindon Town were made to pay for a series of missed opportunities over the weekend.
Despite drumming up an impressive 26 shots on goal (more than 3 times the number that Crawley managed) Town stumbled to their first league defeat of the season.
The key moment of the game was to come on 51 minutes, when Louis Thompson was shown a straight red card for bringing down the onrushing Izale McLeod, who was allowed to break unmarked from the half way line after a punt upfield.
The 29-year-old forward stepped up and sent Foderingham the wrong way.
Down to ten men Swindon still created chances and a flurry of corners. Town manager Mark Cooper was left to reflect on a frustrating day in West Sussex.
"I thought we were outstanding", Cooper freely admitted.
"It was a totally one-sided game. I don't know what the possession stats are, but we totally dominated. You can't play that well and lose many games I don't think"
