Swindon star scores in final & voted MVP as Australia lift trophy

Town fans will be hoping Massimo Luongo will be repeating this picture celebrating in a Swindon shirt at the end of the season.

The Robins' midfielder was named the most valuable player (MPV) at the 2015 Asian Cup, after scoring in the today's final to help Australia beat South Korea to lift the trophy.

 

 

 

The 22-year-old had already had a brilliant tournament, leading to speculation he would be transfer bound from the County Ground to Turkey or even Spain.

But after confirming his desire to stay a Swindon player and concentrate on playing his part in Town's promotion push, it looks like his next game will be on Saturday at home to Barnsley - if he can get in the team!

Since leaving to play in the Asian Cup in early January, Swindon had topped the table and remained unbeaten until losing to Sheffield United today.
