Clear out begins as Luongo and Gladwin sign for QPR for undisclosed fees

Massimo Luongo and Ben Gladwin became the first high-profile Town stars to move on after Sunday's disappointing play-off final defeat.

Queen's Park Rangers completed the signing of both of Swindon's highly-rated players today for an undisclosed fee.

22-year old Luongo has signed a three-year deal with QPR manager Chris Ramsey, who worked with Luongo previously at Tottenham, commenting:

“He brings quality on the ball; the ability to link up play all across the pitch; and his goals and assists record at club and international level speaks volumes for a creative midfielder.

“As with any young player, there are areas of his game that need improving, but knowing him as I do, I know he will embrace the learning curve of playing for us in the Championship.

“I'm confident he will flourish at Loftus Road.”

Gladwin also signed a three-year contract.

“I never want to rest on my laurels – I always want to push on," Luongo said, who as a Town player was part of Australia’s squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and was recently named player of the tournament at the 2015 Asian Cup.

"I’m very excited to now be a QPR player. I can’t wait to start pre-season and get my head down.”
