Swindon Town's month long quest for three points remained elusive today as the Wiltshire outfit fell to a fifth defeat of the season at Bloomfield Road.

 

With Town fans becoming increasingly frustrated in recent weeks, a defeat to struggling Blackpool will have done nothing to ease the pressure on Mark Cooper's side.

 

Blackpool took the lead shortly before half-time.

 

Striker Mark Cullen rising highest to meet Henry Cameron's corner, which despite appeals to the contrary from the Swindon defenders - referee David Webb decided had crossed the line.

 

Moments later Cullen had the opportunity to double the lead, only to see his effort finely saved at the near-post by the returning Lawrence Vigouroux.

 

Further stops from the Liverpool loanee in the second-half kept The Seasiders from extending their lead, but a lack of chances at the other end left the shot-stoppers heroics in vain.

 

Town manager Mark Cooper commented: "We had a lot of possession but we didn’t create enough openings to get the goals. I can’t be disappointed with the performance. We dominated the game but our flair players didn’t produce the goods today."
