Town manager Martin Ling remained positive after watching his side suffer their second successive loss over the Christmas period.

 

"I see Swindon Town as better than where we are in the league but not quite ready to be up there with the top boys," the Swindon boss commented.

 

"We’re competitive now. Against Gillingham and today we were more than capable. We know where we are – we’ve steadied the ship but we need to kick on again."

 

After a bright start in which Town were crucially denied by two outstanding saves from the Burton keeper - the second a point-blank effort from Jon Obika - the only goal of the game arrived late-on after a clumsy tackle in the box from Jordan Turnbull.
