After impressing against Colchester last week, Nicky Ajose continued his fine goal scoring form this afternoon with an impressive hattrick at home to Blackpool.   

 

Town are never a team to do things the way way, however, and found themselves behind after just 2 minutes - an early set piece finding the head of Tom Aldred, and then the net.

 

A goalkeeping gaffe gifted Town the equaliser, before Ajose put the home side ahead with 30 minutes remaining on the clock - bundling home the ball after a great whipped ball from Bradley Barry.

 

Danny Philliskirk gave the travelling support something to cheer about from the spot, but jubiliation was replaced by despair with just 2 minutes left on the clock - Nicky Ajose guiding home a well struck right footed effort from the edge of the box.

 

Luke Williams was delighted with Ajose's performance "He's got that striker's instinct. He's in the right place at the right time because he's thought it through, he's very sharp and very aware.

 

He's a rare breed of player that gets calm in the box and it’s a very valuable gift for a striker to be able to assess things and be aware of things in a crucial area."
