Town boss Luke Williams felt forced to apologise after a horror Easter weekend of football left Swindon with nothing to play for this season.
Angry fans watched in shock and amazement as the Robins conceded ten goals over two games, with only Nicky Ajose's late consolation against Wigan being anything remotely to cheer about.
Nathan Thompson's straight red late-on in the same game for a naïve, lunging tackle just added to supporter's misery.
His absence in defence then directly affected Town's subsequent performance on Bank Holiday Monday, where Scunthorpe found the net six times to inflict Swindon's worst defeat since 2007.

"I'm shocked at some of the incredibly lacklustre performances and what appeared to be some people downing tools," Williams accepted.
"I apologise to the fans that came to watch us and support us and expect to see total commitment from the players."
With faint hopes of a play-off place now extinguished, the Swindon faithful must now look forward to their 16th consecutive season outside the Championship come August.
