Swindon Town's end of season slump continued today as they fell to visiting Bury.

 

Now 8 games without a win, and slipping deeper into the League One danger zone, Town lacked any real quality going forward and slipped behind midway through the second-half.

Town pushed hard for an equaliser and player of the year nominee Nicky Ajose soon had the home fans on their feet - only to see his effort fly agonisingly over the crossbar.

 

With 15 minutes left on the clock Michael Doughty did his upmost to restore parity, but despite a fantastic left-footed cross from Jon Obika and a firm hit from Doughty - the frame of the goal batted away the attempt.

 

Town manager Luke Williams commented afterwards "We played a bit nervous today and didn’t come alive until we conceded. I felt we left it a bit too late and it looked like we were getting closer and closer but there are fine margins in football. We weren’t able to get that equaliser. Sometimes that is the difference in football."
