Swindon 1 Fleetwood 1League One
RESULT: Swindon Town 1 Fleetwood Town 1
Swindon scorer: Norris (12)
Fleetwood scorer: Ball (22)
After suffering a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Sheffield United only last week, Town were back in action today looking to restore some confidence ahead of the busy Christmas fixture list.
And in fairness to the home side, it was a much improved display - one that warranted more than the point that they ended up with.
Luke Norris headed the Robins into the lead after just 12 minutes, before former Manchester City academy prospect David Ball levelled things up.
Town had the chance to regain the lead from the spot shortly after half-time, only for Michael Doughty to see his penalty saved by the athletic Fleetwood keeper.
Swindon head coach Luke Williams was happy with what he saw: "We should take confidence from that performance because I think we did enough to win the game and we can build on that.
“It was difficult to concede because you want to start to really impose yourselves and then the opposition struck back and took the wind out of our sails a bit, but we did enough to warrant winning the game."
