A first-half penalty from Shakers striker James Vaughan was enough to separate league one strugglers Bury and Swindon this afternoon.

 

It was an understandably tight game, with neither side willing to take too many chances at Gigg Lane.

 

The deadlock was broken, however, shortly before half-time - referee Mark Brown pointing to the spot after noticing Branco grappling with Tom Pope at a corner.

 

James Vaughan made no mistake from the resulting penalty, smashing home his 18th goal of the season, and condemning Town to their fourth consecutive league defeat.
