Swindon survived a nervous finish to win their first home game since October tonight.

Manager Danny Wilson made a number of changes, including handing debuts to new boys Gordon Greer and Hal Robson-Kanu.

Town dominated the first period and deservedly took the lead when Kevin Amankwaah scored his first goal in a Swindon shirt.

They doubled that lead on the half-hour mark when hit-man Simon Cox looped a superb effort over the helpless Clayton Ince in the Walsall goal.

When Billy Paynter made it three soon after the break Town looked to be heading for a comfortable victory before a defensive lapse gave the visitors what looked to be a mere consolation.

However, that mistake was made to look costly as Walsall found themselves back in the game only 2 minutes later when they pulled the scores back to 3-2.

Despite some late pressure Town held on for a much needed victory and gives them some confidence for their trip to Oldham on Saturday.
