Swindon 4 Scunthorpe 2

Sendings-off spark Town recovery from 2-0 down

Coca-Cola League One

RESULT: Swindon 4 Scunthorpe 2

Town scorers: Timlin 62, Wright OG 71, Robson-Kanu 82, Peacock 85 Scunthorpe scorers: Hooper 26, Lansbury 39; Byrne sent-off 47, Mirfin sent-off 60

If ever there was a game of two halves, this was it.

Swindon, 2-0 down at the break after Scunthorpe clinically took two opportunities against the run of play, scored four second-half goals in a bizarre forty-five minutes that saw the visitors reduced to nine men.

Turning the game upside down:
Billy Paynter tussles with a Scunthorpe defender

The game hinging on the dismissals of Byrne and Mirfin, both for second bookable offences. Mirfin lucky to be on the pitch after a first-half challenge on Michael Timlin should have resulted in an earlier red card.

Timlin ironically being the man to first punish Scunthorpe for their ill discipline with a low, well-struck shot just two minutes after the second red card; an own goal and a first goal from Robson-Kanu completing the turn-around.

The final icing on the cake for Town fans coming when Lee Peacock fired home with five minutes to go.

The win keeps Town just above the relegation zone after near rivals Brighton and Orient also both won.
