Neilson Lads Massive Marathon Target 

WIN TICKETS to a sporting dinner with Chris Kamara & help raise money for Neilson charity 

 

Eddie Neilson, Swindon’s ex-professional heavyweight boxer, with his sons Mark, Tony and Garry, are running the 2011 Virgin London Marathon.

 

They have committed to raise £10,000 for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund a charity which is especially close to their hearts as wife and mum, Laura, passed away in January 2008 after a long and brave battle with the cancer.

“I used to run for miles when boxing training years ago and I forgot how tough it is to pound the streets for miles," commented Eddie

 

"But along with my lads, I am determined to finish the marathon and get the money raised in memory of my wife Laura."

 

Sporting dinner with Chris Kamara

 

Having created Neilson Promotions, they have now raised over £20,000 for both pancreatic and local charities by putting on these events.

 

And on Monday 28 February they are hosting a Charity Sporting Dinner at the recently refurbished DeVere Village at Shaw Ridge, Swindon.

 

The speaker that evening is the popular and entertaining Chris Kamara - ex Swindon, Portsmouth, Stoke and Leeds and current Sky TV pundit who always entertains.

 

The evening will include a three course meal and coffee, a talk from Chris Kamara along with Q&A, a selection of out-takes from Soccer Saturday, a memorabilia auction, raffle and the hilarious comedian Jimmy Bright.

The evening will be hosted by Neilson Promotions regular MC, ex-Swindon player Phil King.
