Pupils clean-up litter in Swindon town centre
Nythe Primary kids take part in McDonalds Bin It campaign
Pupils from a Swindon school will got the lowdown on litter during a special visit to Swindon Town Centre on Tuesday 28th June.
For the third consecutive year, the children, from Nythe Primary School, will pick up rubbish and find out all about recycling during a visit to Swindon Town Centre organised by inSwindon in partnership with McDonald’s.
They were divided into teams from 9.30am onwards, and as well as collecting litter, they sorted it into recyclable and non-recyclable items.
Swindon Commercial Services were on hand to give their expert advice and have some fun with the children with some interactive games about recycling.
Once the children had collected their litter the Mayor of Swindon, Councillor Ray Ballman judged the teams on their recycling knowledge and award the winning team with their certificate.
“This is the eighth year inSwindon and McDonalds have worked together in the Bin It Campaign in the town centre, and is always a great success and great to see the children enjoying themselves whilst learning,” said Simon Jackson, CEO of inSwindon
