Swindon's Lost Soldier

Can you help identify one of Swindon's fallen WW1 heroes?

Swindon's Lost Soldier
When Tracey Peddy found a gold locket with this man's picture in it, she had know idea who he was.

But after some digging, it turned out that he was a soldier, engaged to one of her relatives, Dorothy Robinson, from Wroughton.

Unfortunately, the 'unknown soldier' was killed in battle during World War One before they could marry, and his fiance died from tuberculosis at the age of 36, having never married.

Since then, it has emerged that he was stationed at Chiseldon Camp, but it is still uncertain which regiment he served in.

Tracey Peddey and her family have emailed us in the hope we can help find out more about his past.

Do you know who he is? Or does the name Dorothy Robinson 'ring a bell'?

Anyone who thinks they might know is urged to get in touch.

With Remembrance Day on 11 November, it would be wonderful to give this war hero a name.
