Swindon Speed Watch

Local residents warn motorists - "If you persist, we'll get you!"

Swindon Speedwatch
A new Community Speed Watch (CSW) scheme was launched in Blunsdon today by local residents.

Working in partnership with Swindon Borough Council, Wiltshire Police and Blunsdon Parish Council, local volunteers armed with speed detection equipment aim to tackle the problem of motorists going too fast through the village.

"It's dangerous and we all want to help prevent an accident," said one volunteer on the first day.

Motorists caught speeding will be sent a warning letter from the Police. Further action is taken against persistent offenders, who will receive an official visit from Wiltshire Police.
