Swindon Council Elections 2012
The big Swindon election:
Thursday 03 May 2012 |
The Conservatives still hold power at Swindon Borough Council - but only by a single seat.
On a night of Labour gains, the Tories hung on to the slimmest possible majority after losing seven seats.
The Liberal Democrats remained unchanged on four.
"We expected our majority to be cut," commented Council leader Rod Bluh, who was re-elected as a councillor for Old Town ward.
"But we [the Conservatives] will continue the work we have already started to take Swindon forward."
