Didier Drogba lights up Swindon!
The Chelsea hero ran from Wharf Green to Commercial Road as part of the torch relay route that started in Wootton Bassett before passing through Old Town to Swindon town centre and then via the Magic Roundabout - with thousands of people cheering the torch bearers along the way.

The Route
Starting at Kingshill, the torch travelled through the heart of Old Town on Victoria Road, before turning into the town centre, stopping at Wharf Green (where the Big Screen were broadcasting the route).
Other notable place marks it visited included The Magic Roundabout, Swindon College and the BMW Plant on Gipsy Lane, to name just a few.

Torchbearers
We spoke to Torchbearer Sue O'Connell, who will be carrying the 2012 Flame through Swindon, and Alan Porton, whose father carried the torch back when it last came to the UK in 1948.
