Having suffered a serious fire only months ago, Roves Farm are back on their feet and ready to celebrate 20 years of business
Roves Farm is celebrating its 20th Anniversary of being a Visitor Centre with a Family Fun Day on Saturday 8th September with lots of competitions, games and fun to be enjoyed by all - all in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK.
With 14 different children and adults crafts and cookery competitions, including ‘Pimp a Welly’, ‘Minature Scarecrow’, ‘Collage of a Farm Animal’ and Dad’s Chocolate Cake’, there is something for everyone!
So much has changed since Rupert and Jo Burr opened the Visitor Centre on Wednesday 20th May 1992, following 3 successful years of just opening for lambing at weekends. New buildings have been built, play facilities created, along with lots of new animals.
Unfortunately Roves Farm was devastated by a major fire just 11 days before their official 20th Anniversary. However, through grit determination and efforts, the Roves Farm Team re-built the Visitor Centre in just seven weeks, and the Swindon Family Attraction is once again open daily to the general public.
SWTV were the first to cover the fire when it occurred, and we went back to speak to Pippa Burr to find out more about their road to recovery...
