Move over Lupo - meet Griffin!

Black cocker spaniel Police dog leads Operation Harness in Swindon

Prince William & the Duchess of Cambridge have a lovely one called Lupo - but he's no match for the one Swindon Police relied on today.

Griffin, a three-year-old black cocker spaniel, helped lead Operation Harness in Swindon this morning with a routine drug check-up at a number of local secondary schools.

The popular breed's keen sense of smell was used to sniff out any students carrying something they shouldn't as they arrived at Lydiard Fields Academy as part of a bigger County-wide operation on law enforcement witnessed by Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon Angus Macpherson.

Griffin, a rescue dog, turned out to more interested in the cameramen following the day of events, however, after they were first invited to take pictures at a major drugs raid in Swindon town centre at 6am!

It's a dog's life!
