Tony Benn in Swindon

Labour stalwart at BR College in 1985

Thanks to the Calyx Archive for these rare pictures of Tony Benn, who sadly died this week aged 88.

The former Labour MP and Cabinet Minister gave a talk at the British Rail Apprentices College in Swindon on 25 November 1985 in support of the protest against the closure of the BR Works (formerly GWR), which eventually closed four months later.
