Queen Camilla in Swindon 

Her Royal Highness visits one of Swindon's oldest businesses after congratulating local charity

Old Town was by royal appointment today, as Queen Camilla paid a visit to Deacons Jewellers in Wood Street to mark the business's 175th anniversary.

Children from The Croft & Lethbridge Primary schools formed a greeting with waving flags, as Her Majesty arrived just before 12. The monarch then spent quite a considerable time meeting those who had turned out to see her before taking a tour of Deacon's store & workshop alongside Richard Deacon and local dignatories.



Charity visit

 

The Queen had already spent time with The Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service at a local refuge, where Camilla gave a speech congratulating the charity on 50 years of supporting women and their children fleeing domestic abuse.
