Tough final:
Lucy Wainwright
Swindon-born medal hopeful Lucy Wainwright was beaten into 7th place in today's final of the K1 500m canoeing.

The 30-year-old, starting in lane nine, never recovered from a poor start and failed to feature in the top three thoughout the race.

Gold went to Ukraine's Inna Osypenko-Radomska, who Wainwright finished second to in the semi-final.

"I just never got going," Wainwright told the BBC, "and that's a disappointment to me after such a good semi."
