Display shows how historical former Old Town hotel may look
Details on the proposed redevelopment of the former Goddard Arms hotel have been revealed.
Site owners George Wimpey in partnership with the Barracuda Group aim to transform the Grade II listed main building, which dates from the 16th century, into a chic 19-bedroom hotel with a restaurant and bar - and build 37 high-quality dwellings on land to the rear.

Plans of which were shown today at a specially arranged exhibition at The Kings in Wood St, where local residents and business owners were given the chance to ask questions and pass comment.
"It's a very exciting project, designed to be very much in keeping with the historical nature of the building and the area," commented Rob Phelps, Technical Director for George Wimpey South West.
"So far the comments have been very positive."
A final planning permission decision from Swindon Borough Council is expected in the next 4 weeks.
