Melinda Wins Celebrity Mum of the Year

Swindon's very own, Melinda Messenger, has been awarded the title of 'Celebrity Mum of the Year' for 2003.

"What an honour!" the 32 year old mother-of-two said.

"I can't believe that I've been chosen above all the famous names nominated. I've very humbled to win," she added, as she received her award at a star-studded ceremony the Grovenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London.

The Celebrity Big Brother star pipped, amongst others, Davina McCall, Liz Hurley and the Queen to the coveted title.

Sponsored by Quality Street, Melinda promised to donate boxes of the chocolates to the mothers and children of local charity, the Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Movement (Calm), in her home town of Swindon, where she still lives with husband, Wayne, and sons, Morgan, two, and one-year-old Flynn.
