We speak to Aled Jones
Radio 1 DJ tells us his thoughts on the BBC Big Weekend
Today we spoke to Aled Jones from the Chris Moyles breakfast show, who announced that they have teamed up with BBC Headroom to provide this year’s Radio 1’s Big Weekend visitors with an oasis of calm and relaxation in The Surgery tent.
On Saturday 9th May and Sunday 10th May at Lydiard Park in Swindon, The Surgery tent will be open from 12 noon to 6pm. Visitors to the event can take part in relaxation sessions, get a massage or simply chill out listening to calming music. The Surgery on Radio 1 presenter Aled Haydn Jones will host the area, and there’ll be Q&A sessions with experts from the show including Dr Mel, Radio 1 and 1Xtra DJ’s and also some of the artists performing at festival, such as Fightstar and Alesha Dixon. “I can’t wait to host The Surgery tent at Radio 1’s Big Weekend," Aled Haydn-Jones told us. "It’s incredible how many young people contact us on the show each week to ask our experts for help, so it will be great to meet some of our audience in person”.
Meanwhile, BBC Switch has plenty to offer Radio 1's Big Weekend's teen visitors across the weekend from 2pm to 6pm. The Switch open top bus features special acoustic performances and the Switch area will include live sumo matches with The 5:19 Show presenter Tom Deacon, Switch's Nick Grimshaw, Radio 1 DJ Greg James and some of the acts who are performing at Radio 1's Big Weekend. Visitors to the Switch area will also get the chance to have their photo taken with a band using green screen technology and there will also be a sticker station where Switch fans can make their own celeb designed badges. See video above for the full interview. |
