Celebration as new museum opens in Theatre Square
Five weeks on from finding a new permanent home, the UK’s first dedicated museum of computing has opened in Swindon.
Swindon-based Intel vice president Gordon Graylish the specially invited guest for the occasion, as the museum unveiled its first exhibition chronicling the history of the personal computer, right from the very early days of accounting through to the Sinclair and Commodore days and modern gaming of today.
The official opening in Theatre Square the culmination of years of hard work.

Everyone who attended agreeing that the exhibits gave a fascinating insight into how computers have involved – with many bringing back special childhood memories.
The Computer Museum is located opposite the new central library.
