The Robins send the Eagles flying
Swindon extended their lead at the top of the Elite League to four points after a paid maximum from Matej Zagar set up a convincing win at the Abbey Stadium.
Taking all 3 Elite League points against a lively Eastbourne side at a bouncing Blunsdon, as the crowds turned out in force after four weeks of inactivity on the Abbey raceway. Matej Zagar produced a breathtaking display of passing to conjure a paid 15-point full-house and the Slovenian ace received superb top-end support from skipper Leigh Adams, who tallied paid 14.
In a throughly entertaining encounter, Swindon started strongly and nurtured a twelve point lead after heat six. However, a tenacious Eastbourne sextet narrowed the Robins' advantage to a four point margin with just three races remaining. Swindon finished in fine style though, 5-1 race results from the awesome Adams/Zagar partnership in heats thirteen and fifteen proved enough to seal victory and secure all Elite league points on offer.
