Swindon Wildcats announce two more new signings
Wildcats announce first overseas signing!
The Swindon Wildcats today confirm the signing of 31 year old Czech- born netminder, Ladislav Kudrna for the 2008/09 English Premier Ice Hockey League season. Kudrna joins from the Elite League's Hull Stingrays where he posted an impressive 90.1% saves average in the import-laden professional league. The 6'1" netminder comes with a wealth of top-level experience, having previously iced in the highly-rated Czech Elite league as well as stints in the French Premier. He has also featured in top Elite league teams in the UK with Edinburgh, Nottingham, London and most recently Hull, where he received the Player of the Year allocade for his contribution. Wildcats Head Coach Peter Russell is understandably delighted with his first overseas signing: "We have secured an Elite level goalie for the Wildcats" The Swindon Wildcats are also delighted to confirm that they have secured the services of Slovak winger Ivan Racek for their 08/09 English Premier Ice Hockey League campaign. Racek, 26, joins from Hockey Club Nitra in the top Slovakian league, the Extraliga, having progressed through their junior ranks as well as spells with Kosice, Topolcalny, Prievidza and Lokomotiva Zamky. At 189cm and 82kgs, Racek is described as a good scorer and passer of the puck with a hard shot. Wildcats Head Coach Peter Russell had this to say on his latest exciting acquisition: "Racek will add the offensive punch that every team needs. He has strong skating skills and a good skill level" |
