John Wheaton re-signs for Wildcats
The Swindon Wildcats are delighted to confirm the return of
influential Canadian forward John Wheaton to their roster for the forthcoming English Premier Ice Hockey League season in a dual role as player/assistant coach. Wheaton, 24, joined the Wildcats mid-way through last season and was instrumental in turning the Wildcats' faltering season around. A fan-favourite, no nonsense forward and a key character in the team, Wheaton's return is welcomed by his Head Coach, Peter Russell:
"When 'Wheats' joined last year he made an immediate impact and was a huge influence on the team's performances. He always gives everything for the team." "He played for five weeks with a broken foot but still did a good job on the ice, playing through the pain barrier to fulfil his role on the team. It's great to have him back and I look forward to working with John in his role as Player/Assistant Coach" added Peter Russel. |
