Wildcats announce re-signing of a legend 

Fiddes Back to Marshal the Blue-line

Influential defenceman and captain Wayne Fiddes is confirmed as returning to the roster for the Swindon Wildcats ice hockey club in preparation for their new 2008/09 English Premier League campaign.

Fiddes 29, returns to the blue line for Peter Russell's Wildcats as one of the side's most senior players in terms of experience. Having made his senior debut for the Wildcats aged just 14 back in 1993, "Fiddsey" has been one of the club's most dependable performers throughout his career.

"Fiddsey returns for his 15th season and brings so much experience with him. Last year was a tough year for Wayne due to injury but he still did a good job and gave his all for the team, as he has done for the last 15 years. I expect Wayne to come back stronger this year after a good break over the summer."

 

"Wayne is a good man, awesome in the dressing room and comes to play every single time he steps on the ice. Its great to have him back and ready to go!" said Coach Russell on his latest signing.
