Apprentices complete starting British line up for Wildcats
Swindon Wildcats are delighted to confirm that they have secured the signatures of Oli Lansdowne and Samuel Waller
The Swindon Wildcats ice hockey club are delighted to confirm that they have secured the signatures of two hot prospects on apprentice terms for the forthcoming English Premier Ice Hockey League season.
Netminder Oli Lansdowne, step-brother of former Wildcats starter Lee, will split his time between the Premier roster and the ENL Wildcats Development team.
The 18 year old is a product of the local Junior programme and enters his first full season as a senior player keen and eager to learn from training and playing alongside Wildcats starting netminder Ladislav Kudrna, and the ENL team's veteran Jamie Thompson.
Joining Lansdowne on the roster is 16 year-old defenceman, Samuel Waller.
Waller debuted for the Wildcats at the tender age of 14 coming in as injury cover during the 06/07 season and performed with a maturity above his age.
A change in the rules regarding player registration brought into force by the sport's governing body meant that the impressive youngster was prohibited from playing alongside his senior peers last season.
