Big Summer Events 2008

Swindon Summer 2008
Wow! What a stupendous summer we're having!

The sort of weather you associate with surfing, sangria, safaris and skimpy swimsuits. Lovely!

And even better, Swindon's the best place to enjoy it (except for the sangria, surfing and safaris... and not many skimpy swimsuits, if we're honest) - a veritable savannah of stella sights and sounds right here on your doorstep.

And if you happen to spot a SwindonWeb camera when you're out - don't forget to SMILE!

At the flicks

Swindon cinema
We'd all end up looking like shrivelled up prunes - or worse still, David Dickinson - if we spent the entire summer outdoors in the heat (when there is some).

So thankfully the multiplexes have got what looks set to be a cracking summer of blockbusters bringing the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Morgan Freeman, Pamela Anderson, Angelina Jolie and Jackie Chan to a big screen near you.

Not-to-be missed are Sex and the City: The Movie, The Incredible Hulk, Wanted, and Kung Fu Panda.

To the terraces

Swindon Town FC 2008
Yes, we know, this is meant to be an entertainment guide, but come on.

With the Robins' first full season under the ownership of Fitton and co, expectation is high at the County Ground.

Financial woes a thing of the past, the boys will now be looking to the 2008/09 season to really prove their worth.
