Big Summer Events 2008
Wow! What a stupendous summer we're having!
The sort of weather you associate with surfing, sangria, safaris and skimpy swimsuits. Lovely!
And even better, Swindon's the best place to enjoy it (except for the sangria, surfing and safaris... and not many skimpy swimsuits, if we're honest) - a veritable savannah of stella sights and sounds right here on your doorstep.
And if you happen to spot a SwindonWeb camera when you're out - don't forget to SMILE!
The town centre is set to come alive with live music, street theatre, circus acts, and all kinds of special effects and pyrotechnics.
With the exceptional NoFit State Circus bringing the whole festival together in a grand finale on Saturday 14 June - you'd be mad to miss it!
The popular Old Town Festival is set to be as popular as ever this year.
A fantastic week of family fun, with a spectacular range of entertainment on show on The Lawn and around Wood Street.
If history is anything to go by,
there are sure to be plenty of smiling faces all round.
Taking place over four days, the festival will see top acts of the jazz world dropping in to The Old Bank, Longs Bar and The Kings Hotel - with a full day of jazz on Saturday in a marquee at The Lawns.
Included in the impressive line-up is the legendary Roger Beaujolais Quartet who haven't played at the festival for two years.

July 26th will be bringing us this year's fantastic Mela festival.
An all-day celebration of South Asian culture and creativity bringing the carnival atmosphere from Asia to the streets of Swindon.
Mela boasts a colourful array of singing, dancing, partying, and a chance to enjoy a variety of Indian food from one of the many stalls located throughout Town Gardens.
And best of all - it's completely free!
Check out their official website via the link below for a full list of events.
If you're looking for 'hard to find' or specialist collectors pieces for Land Rovers, commercial and vintage vehicles, look no further!
We've got more than our fair share of talent in and around the town, and the Shuffle event is expected to showcase some of our finest.

Two world class dance acts are set to descend on the Old Town Bowl, for what is already being billed as the event of the year.
The all-day dance festival Swindon Invincible is attracting international headline acts Freestylers Live and Crazy P.
Sponsored by HSM and Inbox and supported by Frequency and VM Promotions, the event will see bands and DJs going head-to-head in a live funky, electro, house mix-up.

The Sugarhill Festival brings together musicians and camping revellers at an event which boasts organic food, real ales and best of all, great acts.
Summer wouldn't be summer without a series of musical open-air gigs at Swindon's best-kept secret - the Old Town Bowl.
This year we've got everything from African dancing, Bhangra music, an international salsa and merengue band, an all-day dance festival, and much more!
And Swindon Borough Council will be doing their bit too, with a benefit night to raise money for The Bowl - including a performance by none other than Chief Executive Gavin Jones and his band Aeshna!
It's fun for all the family this summer, with the open-air theatre!
Three main events include Charley's Aunt, Peter Pan and The Winters Tale - all expected to bring fun, comedy and magical mystery to Lydiard Park.

We'd all end up looking like shrivelled up prunes - or worse still, David Dickinson - if we spent the entire summer outdoors in the heat (when there is some).
So thankfully the multiplexes have got what looks set to be a cracking summer of blockbusters bringing the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Morgan Freeman, Pamela Anderson, Angelina Jolie and Jackie Chan to a big screen near you.
Not-to-be missed are Sex and the City: The Movie, The Incredible Hulk, Wanted, and Kung Fu Panda.
Yes, we know, this is meant to be an entertainment guide, but come on.
With the Robins' first full season under the ownership of Fitton and co, expectation is high at the County Ground.
Financial woes a thing of the past, the boys will now be looking to the 2008/09 season to really prove their worth.
