Arkell's is proud to continue its support for Swindon Town Football Club. The brewery has long been associated with the club, stretching back many years. We are currently one of its major sponsors through the Arkell's Stand. We are proud to say that we have supported the club through the bad times as well as the good ones - like the 1969 League Cup triumph for which we brewed a special commemorative beer - and we will continue to support our local team into the new Millenium. Arkell's Brewery is also the main sponsor of SwindonWeb, a local initiative in the new and exciting world of the Internet, and we regularly support groups and charities in their work in the Swindon area.

Two books have been indispensible in the creation of this website. Khadija Buckland's work, Arkell's Anniversary Album (Red House Publishing, 1993) and Dave Backhouse's Home Brewed: A History of Breweries and Public Houses in the Swindon Area (published by the author in 1992) are essential reading for everyone interested in beer, pubs and brewing in our area.
