Central Library will be hosting an ‘Open House’ day of FREE events to celebrate ‘International Women’s Day 2013’ – come and be a part of it! 

Displays, Talks, Meet-the-Women, Creative Journal Workshop, Music, Poetry, Writing Your Journal Workshop, Readings, Art Project Launch, Coffee and ideas. Sharing thoughts, hopes and wishes.

Activities taking place throughout the library:

10.30am–12.00pm: ‘Have a Go’ - Creative ‘Journal My Day’  Workshop (Bea Menier)

12.00pm–1.00pm: Read and Share Poetry time - Bring-your-Own work or Read your Favourite (lead by Hilda Sheehan)

1.00pm–2.00pm: Music/Dance Asian Women  (Dorothy Clark) and Story/Poetry - Afro/Carribbean Group (Gloria Bishop)

2.00pm–3.30pm: Have-a-Go - Writing a Journal Workshop (Juliet Platt) and Have-a-Go African Drumming (Evelyn)

4.30pm–5.30pm: Coffee and Ideas & Launch of 100 Women’s Portraits (Rosa Matheson & ArtSite)

5.30pm–6.30pm: ‘Meet the Women’ - Women in Dance (Marie McCluskey MBE) & Women in Music (Marie Lennon)

7.15pm – 9.00pm: Talk – ‘Swindon’s link with Nepal’ – the 100 Women Book Project plus Nepale music and dancing (Rosa Matheson)
